A remarkable and “extremely rare” encounter with one of the ocean’s enigmatic inhabitants unfolded off the Northern Beaches of Sydney, leaving two divers in awe.
Justin Ewan and Josh Ku, the fortunate divers, found themselves in the presence of not one, but two sunfish, a species renowned for its mysterious nature and elusive appearances.
“I dove down to about 10 meters and looked straight ahead and saw two massive figures coming towards me,” Ewan recalled. It was a moment of sheer amazement as the colossal creatures drew nearer, revealing themselves to be none other than sunfish, not just one, but a pair of them.
